To meet customers’ requirement about a typical product when visiting Yen Tu landscape, on February 2006, Uong Bi town set a manufacturing project of apricot wine and assigned to Thang Long Brewery factory.
After two years of running, at present, Yen Tu apricot wine has become a typical product of Yen Tu landscape and highly appreciated in quality by tourists.
Ms. Tran Thuy Tap, director of Thang Long Brewery factory said: the apricot wine has long been manufactured by locals but this kind of wine produced by manual method with a few number without quality testing. After receiving the project, we actively searched for more information and found a “golden address” specializing in producing wines derived from fruit, especially apricot wine – it’s Japan. Next we went to Japan to learn specific production technologies in a number of large factories and bought production technologies. After nearly 2 years of production testing, Yen Tu apricot wine succeeded beyond expectation of staffs and workers in Brewery Thang Long factory. Apricot wine matches standards of color, flavor, and quality, hygiene, and safety. Bottles of wine are designed with beautiful form and pattern carrying distinctions of Yen Tu landscape.
Currently, when Yen Tu apricot wine has been highly appreciated in quality and asserted its brand step by step, Thang Long Brewery is planning to expand production but the difficult problem is lack of materials. The wine production is currently based only on the purchase of raw materials from small number of local residents. Thus, to sustainably develop apricot wine, in association with the development of tourism, restoring the production of raw materials is a matter that Uong Bi town needs to pay more attention.
